Was in down town Tombstone today ( Ka-toomba-stone as we call it ) ... and had parked up behind main street. As I got onto the main drag in the distance I saw a white Defender parking ... I watched for who got out in case I knew them but sadly not.

As the bloke was walking up the street and coming towards me I spoke up and asked him if he was the bloke who owned the White Deefer. He said yes with a smile and I put my hand out and said "County owner". Next thing ya know we were kicking the tyres on his truck and then kicking the tyres on mine. After about 45 mins of a mutual love fest turned out he knew some people I know and we shoot at the same rifle club - just haven't bumped into eachother yet.

Bloke was also English and born near Solihull of all places ... he gave me his card and there ya go ... made a new friend. ( We didn't talk about the cricket much though! ) :D

So bugger waving, if you see a Landy owner in the street, bail him up ... never know where you friends might be coming from.

I saw you heading up towards the station but I was in our subaru so you probably didnt notice me waving. There was also a brown county parked a bit further along from the white one. Katoomba sure is turning feral!

Hey mate,

Sorry I missed the wave ... I saw the brown County as well, it was actually parked two spaces up from the White Deefer whose owner I was chatting to and we looked it over as we walked up to see my truck. Funnier still ... as we were chatting over my County, right behind the blokes head was a black 90 going out the car park! You had to laugh, it was like releasing the bats from the belfry ... all of a sudden there were Land Rovers abounding. :D

Sounds a bit like Kalgoorlie mate.

First met PAT303 when I saw him parked in Hannan Street one Saturday morning (and recognized his rego plate).

Was parked down in Hannan Street myself one evening when a friendly bloke walked up and said hello - was Keith (Beefy) from Perth working up this way. The AULRO sticker on my windscreen caught his attention.

Have also spoken with another couple of Landrover owners (not on here) around town at various times. Always tell them about this place, but not sure if any of them have ever checked it out or not.

Kalgoorlie's a friendly place ............... even more so if you drive a Landrover. :D

Now all we need is some Land Rover WiFi intercoms like the bikers now use to talk to their pillion passengers and the other bikes in the group.

We could have them all on the same frequency (or however they work) and when another Defer, County or whichever LR comes into range we say G'day! :D :D
