How good is this?
Media Release - Department of Defence (http://www.defence.gov.au/media/DepartmentalTpl.cfm?CurrentId=11203)
"Sarbi became separated during this engagement and remained lost for some 14 months before being returned to Australian troops in theatre."

Thats good
I put up a post a while back and at that time it looked a bit unlike Sarbi would make it back to Aus. Great to hear Sarbi made it home.

I thought that I read somewhere in the last month that EDD Sarbi's human donor family was "promised" her return after active duty. This was
made at the time of her donation by a DD employee. It now looks like a total backflip,as I read today that she is at AQIS Eastern Creek doing time awating her return to regiment.

That was the original plan I believe, but now they are talking about sending her back. She's done enough in my book.

apparently this is a misunderstanding by the donors,
they asked if possible to have dog after service, advised that handlers have first call, if not taken by handler and dog is able to be given to public (eg because of training its had etc) then donor is given the option..
I havent looked to find it but pretty sure this was in an article somewhere maybe even on the ARMY webpages??
and I agree, time to rest done your stint mate!
At least now, unike Vietnam, the dogs are repatriated, 10 dogs given to people in Siagon rather than brought back after 3 year tours!
(one dog died in service)
cheers

If she's going back, then she hasn't completed active service. Pretty simple. The donors may well get her in the end.
