Folks - I've begun my last day of work for 2010 (Yay!), and have much to do, following my extended period of making a nuisance of myself on the soapbox,:p - so, before I am denied the chance, I'd like to wish everyone here on AULRO a very Merry Christmas and a safe and happy holiday period.

I'm going to be on the road myself with my eventual destination being central Victoria, and whilst I'll be seeing a few AULROvians on route, my presence here will be somewhat limited for the next 4 weeks. (I can almost hear the applause! :D)

I'm keen to get back down south, helping out on the family farm, getting what is left of our wheat crop off before the rain claims it all. :(

May I say before I go, that AULRO remains a very special place for me, and I cherish the community here and particularly the diversity of thought. The technical help I have received, along with hands on support, has been fantastic and in it's absence, my grand old Series 1 might still be sitting around unused.

I truly believe the community here shares more that unites us, than that which divides us. It is great to be a part of that community. Take care everyone, and I look forward to an even better 2011 - together with you all, on AULRO. :)

Dan.

All the best to you and yours as well. Give us a yell if going past here.

I think you may find roads a little less than good in the next few days or weeks. Be careful with floodwaters!

I've just manged to boot up this Mac Powerbook Simon commandeered for me - and am delighted to read these generous replies from everyone!

So much to say!

I'm here in the glorious Blue Mountains with Rilka and Simon and it's great to be here with my family again. But reading these replies tonight reminds me that I also have an extended group of good friends here on AULRO. :)

How good is that? :BigThumb: This got me thinking - we drove through a sweet little place today - Bilong village, near Rylstone, NSW. Here we found a charming little camping spot opposite the general store, and the town folk tell me there will likely only be we camping there if we return for New Year's eve - which for Kat and I , kind of ticks all the boxes :D But - I say "kind of" on purpose - we're thinking we might just try to make this happen, so if anyone here might be around that neck of the woods, and would care to join us, that would be grand. :)

That said, we very much appreciate your invitation too John - if we end up further westward on our return, I'll be in contact. :) Otherwise, perhaps you might feel like a trip away!

May I say again - all our best to everyone here - and just out of interest, Kat and I waived to 14 Sollihull products on route - we got 5 return waves - 3 Defenders (out of 3 seen), 1 Series 3 and 1 brand spanker RR Sport! Well done that fellow! :D

You pair have a great Chrissy,, I expect some photos of the "coffee on the escarpment" , also remember your old war wound if Simon starts mumbling about "the one down the back yard"

Have you thought of a 2011 project yet?:wasntme:

Scollops, I hope you haven been teaching those kids to draw on the walls. Being a painter I spot this kind of stuff.

Merry Christmas to you and Kat. Sounds like the season is working for you already, looking relaxed.

Look forward to sitting around a fire one night in the new year.

cheers

I think Dan was probably trying to teach the kids a bit about the geological formations of the area.;):D:D
