This seems very cheap for this model. My senses tell me they're not telling us something.

Redbook trade-in price is $9,500 - $12,200

Only takes one or two tiny things wrong to knock off the extra value.

Still probably a scam.

I tell you whats missing!
The car when you part with your dosh.
As soon as they mention its for sale via ebay and you deposit funds into some account and the car will be cleared 3 days later even with some ebay documents, run, run like the ****ing wind.
I came across a scam like it on a X3 i was going to buy for darling wife and after many emails I went to the cops.
Well was that a mistake.
They 1st did not want to know about but leave your file here anyway.
I did and 3 days later I was in there being asked 2 million questions and 6 hours later and one can of soft drink, those tight arses gave me.

It was appparently a group that has been watched for some time and since I spoke to them on the phone which was rare apparently they thought I made inroads and wanted me to go and make contact again.
What a farce.

Never buy anything somebody can not go and touch and see.

Good luck all the same, it could well be a goer:cool::cool::cool:

The way the advert is written (and this is not intended to offend any female AULROlians) I would doubt that it was put together by a "Brenda". I would be sure that it was written by a bloke.

It looks nice and shiny, the engine bay looks clean, the interior looks tidy, and yet it is the cheapest on there by a mile.
Add that to the fact that there are no contact numbers, and contact is email only, it smells like a rotten old haddock.

Wouldn't it be great if someone here just HAPPENED - by chance, to work for the department of transport...

Not suggesting anything... not at all! But that's way too cheap for what it really looks like!

Do personalised plates like 'WRB49' often stay with the car when it's sold on to a new owner?
I wouldn't have thought so but I'm not in Qld.

In NSW they would be classed as custom plates & would attract a high annual fee so they would stay with the owner, not the car.

Your sense are right.

They are not telling us anything.

In QLD the owners have the option of selling the car with the personalised plates or keeping them for themselves and putting standard plates back on the car.

emailed again, still no reply.

Got hold of some numbers - no longer in service.

It can't be much of a scam if they are not returning emails.

They need to contact people if they want to take their money

I got a response email today!

The poor women, Loreeta, has a very sick daughter and she needs the money. A sick child is more important than a car isn't it?

So I told her I'm very interested and she just got back to me.

Apparently she is now in Adelaide with her daughter in hospital. But, luckily, she has arranged with a delivery company to ferry the car to wherever the buyer lives to allow an inspection and test drive before having the payments handled through the EBay payment system.

All I have to do now is send her my name and address so that she can arrange the delivery.

Somehow I don't think I'm going to be able to do that.

Too busy over Christmas of course!

Email reply i got today;

'Hello there,
I appreciate that you contacted me. First let me say that the 1999 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER HSE is available for $7800.
It is in good condition, there's no scratches or any dents on it,very well maintained, please check the pictures, I have a clear title for it, no liens or loans. Never been in any accidents.
Rego will expire on Sept 2011 and has 111465km
The reason why I'm selling it so cheap (it`s real value is much higher) is because my 8 year old daughter is very sick and we need those money as soon as possible to pay her treatment, right now i don`t care about money,my daughter`s health comes first.....
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate ask.Where are you located?
Best Regards'

Forward it straight to the computer fraud squad in your state.
I found one on Gumtree and got in contact with the computer division herein Perth. By the time they got to the ad, it had been closed down and gone.
However they did know who it was!

Cheers

Andrew
