Took the plunge and purchased a 1995 HSE on springs from Melbourne. The SRS light came on halfway home so it will be going back next week for repairs:mad:, also the radio does not work can someone give me the best solution for it throw it away or have it repaired? I have only recently joined but i am enjoying all the hints and tricks thanks in advance for the advice. P>S how do i post a picture next to my name of the new beast.

Is the radio asking for "code in" or just isnt working?
Fuse?
Sounds like you have a loose plug/wire on your SRS system, they are encased in a yellow plastic tube and stand out quite clearly.
No air suspension Ahwww, thats not Kool the EAS is great when working:D

I agree. I luurve my EAS. Also, its easy to work on! You can diy the air-spring replacement, the valve block rebuild, the compressor, the orings and collets, the tubing, the troubleshooting, just maybe not the EAS CPU so much. If the EAS valve block and other bits are all still there, test it out and consider chucking the airbags back in :)
Nb: if its your daily drive, and the wife and kids are in it every day, the EAS is still good, but carve out some time to do the changeover and get it troubleshot :)

Yeah, they are awesome. Had an old one some years back (2 door) and brought my 98 one a few months back. Just got the cruise control working again and love it. About to spend a couple of weeks towing a camper about and looking for to it.

Whisky, what was up with your cruise mate? Was having dramas with mine too and none of the common problems either...

Daljames,
It was a bit hit or miss stuff. It was checked out by Clarke Auto here in Wodonga and the mechanicals were OK. Went off to the auto electrician and he found the clip holding the brake switch was broken on one side of the clip. Replaced it and thought he had fixed it. Turns out that was only have the trouble. It would work and then drop out for no reason, I spent time driving over every bump I could find thinking that might have upset it. Sometimes it would come back if I reset it with the steering wheel button, other times it would be off for hours and some days not at all. Other days it was perfect. Finally we put in an exchange cruise control ECU from Ritters and that has fixed it.
I hope that helps.

Thanks Whisky. I got a used CC ECU from EBAY UK. Seemed my probs where battery leads. Gone from no go to the intermittent operation you described. Think i might try Ritters for a tested ecu if that what you got? and if so how much was it? I know Ritters can still get keys too, might do a double order if i have the cash. Its overtime time of year so heres hoping....

daljames, the auto lecy ordered it from Ritters, all up it cost me $220.00 fitted although I think Brendon did not charge me for the fitting which was only a 10 minute job.
All the best with it.
