Just a bit of fun,
I spent the day replacing the viscus coupling with a modified "uncoupled" one on a friend's car, then got carried away and fixed his sunroof too....he has a heap of P38's, so he said "Thanks Fraser, do you want to borrow it for the holidays" (till jan 17th) So I now have a late (bosch?) Black HSE 4.6 sitting out the front!
Such a pimp mobile!!!
How hard will it be for me to go back to the Defender?
You proud of me Ron?
Cheers,
Fraser

Well done! I am intrigued... what is an "uncoupled" VC and does it have any advantages over a standard VC?

Umm....no advantages bar the price......it leaves the centre diff completely free to do it's thing, and leaves everything up to the traction control.
It's like a Disco2 with no difflock.
Will never seize again, and cost $120 change-over....so there you go!

Just got back from a Melb-Geelong return trip, over the whole journey the trip computer said it averaged 11.7 l/100k's.... I'm astounded it was that good!
Hmmm....sounds like I'm already talking myself into it!
LOL

Cant quite get my head around this, are you saying you removed the viscous coupling and replaced with a centre diff??

Nope, they already have a centre diff, the VC only acts to make it sort of a self-locking diff, so I removed the siezed VC and replaced it with a modified one that offers no locking effect.
