From memory you need to have the nano connected via a laptop.
BCU settings page and then either learn codes or security settings.
Ignition on but engine not running.
I may not have named the pages correctly but you will find it if you look that way. It will display a page saying EKA code with blank boxes.

Hi Ean.
Fire up the Nanocom. Page thru the screens until you get to the "valeo Body Control Unit".
Press ent
Scroll left to "Read-set EKA"
Press ent
EKA is now displayed (one of four values at a time - page thru the 4 values using ->-> & <-<- buttons.)
Each value can be changed as you are viewing it by using the "mod" button, and it appears the changed values are updated in real time as you do it.
That's it ! Really quick & simple to do.
I suggest setting it to low numbers to reduce the number of key twists required in the door lock. Write down your old & new EKA, then exit out to the main menu, and go back in and check that the EKA is now as you changed it.
Hope that helps.
(Pedro ... you asked me to write a short tutorial on how to access and change the EKA ... this is it ! :) )

Ok thanks Fluids, got that and reset it, so now the big question,
How does it work, its obviously some sort of code, but can someone tell me how you use the key to each step of the EKA..
Many thanks,
Cheers Ean

Without doing a search to confirm.
First number is left (anti-clockwise), second is right (Clockwise), third is left and fourth is right.

Hi Ean,
Check your owner manual or Rave CD if you have either.
Look under Contols & Instruments, Locks & Alarms, Emergency key access.
All will be explained. Hence the suggestion to use low numbers.
Dave.
PS Refer attached Rave extract

I believe my instructions are correct for Australia. Initially anti-clockwise at the driver's door is UNLOCK as per the instructions.

I just did a check of fault codes with NANOCOM after servicing my 2004 Discovery D2a TD5. I did some extra “exploring” to try and get more familiar with the NANOCOM, checking what my EKA code is. As far as I remember, I entered the BCU and scrolled through to Utilities, then entered the EKA Read/Set section and clicked Read. It displayed a code which doesn’t match what is written on the security card that came with the car (AFAIK no computers have been changed). It also indicated that it is “working…..”.

I waited for more than 5 min but nothing changed. I tried to exit but it wouldn’t let me. I tried starting the car but it spluttered then stopped…I am locked out I assume. I also noticed than the odometer had rest itself to 0 km !???? I can open the doors but it won’t lock with the key plip buttons. Battery voltage is OK at 12.48V. NANOCOM is still connected and in EKA reader mode as I am too chicken to unplug it or disconnect the battery.
Any suggestions what I can do to get my car working again would be enormously appreciated.

disconnecting the nanocom and or battery should fix it as it sounds like it's only the nanocom that's crashed?

Disconnecting the battery worked [bigsmile]. Even the odometer came on back to where it was. I managed to reset my EKA code successfully once I figured out that you need to press each field to change them. All good now. Many thanks[thumbsupbig].
