why is it so??

base mod D4, no touch screen, i have the option to change the clock on the center display and the dash to 12 hr time from 24hr, select that option and 24hrs later we are back to 24hr time??
so if its only going to be 24hr time why have it selectable??
any ideas of how to keep it in 12hr time?
