Just fitted a new Delphi De Carbon steering damper today to suit County 110 ... this is also after fitting a new heavy duty tie rod kit today. I drove home with the new tie rod kit installed and noticed a better feel generally but there was still a little wander at the wheel, nothing major though. I knew I needed a new damper and was sold the De Carbon this afternoon, previous item was an Armstrong fitted by previous owner..
After reading some comments about De Carbons being over gassed a few years ago, I decided to take her for a spin to see for myself. Wow ... what a difference. Hands off the wheel and there was no tendency other than to hold a straight line. I have also noticed that the slightly vague sense of wandering at the wheel is now gone ... there is a very deliberate control at the wheel now.
I have still to replace my Pan Hard Rod bushes ... it was noted today that there is quite a bit of play in one of them which I think is perishing due to contamination. This is the culprit of my recent death wobbles I believe as the front diff can move side to side! In any case ... big thumbs up to the Delphi De Carbon ... I have no problems with the unit fitted and indeed noticed and immediate improvement to the feel of my steering. :)
