I love the tyre on the bonnet look, but sadly it is never possible for a PUMA owner, is that correct ?

Plus its a great use of space :D

anything is possible however a puma bonnet is higher than the tdi and td5 so you would loose a little more vison which is not a major problem for the open road.

i have one fitted to my 110 wagon and i wonder whether its actually legal as they were only ever delivered on cab chassis?

If it were legal on my PUMA I'd be real tempted to do it if its possible............

I asked this question some time ago, even the new Puma's for the NATO country's dont have a front bonnet spare, maybe its due to the weight, and impairing the vision.

Theres this interesting type avaiable....

I had a wheel on one of my td5 130's, and it was so heavy too lift. And i was always worried that the bonnet was going too fall on my head. I really like the new bonnet and i wouldnt want too cover it in my oppion, and it would also make it rather high from a visability point of view. Rear swing carriers for 130's work well.

I am not 100% sure but think it might fall foul which is a real poity as I had also thought about it and would love to do it.

If they applied the "Bonnet scoop" laws...

Bonnet scoops/projections may be fitted to a vehicle provided the driver’s vision is not restricted under normal operating conditions with the driver’s seat located at its lowest and rearmost position. Bonnet-mounted scoops/projections must meet the following requirements:

When a 165mm diameter sphere is placed on the bonnet in front of the scoop (or bonnet projection) and rolled backwards until it touches the scoop, no forward point of the scoop or point of contact between the sphere and the scoop must lie above a horizontal plane passing through the centre of the sphere.

It shall be possible to see either the surface of the road 11m in front of the driver’s eye or all of the front edge of the original body when looking across the top of the bonnet scoop. For the purposes of this requirement, the driver’s ‘eye’ position can be taken as being a point 730mm above and 270mm forward of the junction of the seat cushion and seat back with the seat in its lowest and rearmost position.

The 165mm does not mean that the object can be 165mm high. There is a diagram here that explains it pretty well but which I couldn't get to copy and paste.

Maybe it doesn't apply but my guess si they would find something similar!

Quite simply you're correct..

Fitting one to a vehicle which did not come factory with it is illegal.

Similarly you cannot have tools mounted on the guards either.

correct it falls foul under the scoops laws.

But if your careful with the profile and location of the tool brackets you can mount them on the wings and pass the scoop laws.
