I suppose I am a bit like Toad from Wind in the Willows, I see something shiny and new and feel I must have it [ in theory of course, I dont have his income] To that end, I made the mistake of going into the Les Richmond Auto website. In the offchance I win the lotto, Kam L.S.D. diffs., with Kam lockers , anyone got them, recommend them, or not? If so, what else is there to consider going down this track/Bob.[ lotto numbers, anyone?] :twobeers:

I got the kam rear locker put in by LRA. Yes big bucks, a few pros/cons with kam, but I am happy with it so far. I got kam 4.1's and locker, but still on standard axles. sure enough a rear axle went snap the other day. I didn't look into the LSD centre, just went open/locked.
electronic activation works well. If you can install them yourself you will save massive $$, as with importing the KAM bits yourself from UK. Since our aussie dollar has sky rocketed I don't think LRA adjusts their pricing......
I just need hd axles/cvs and a front kam then I am all sorted!

Electronic activation as to air activation, electronic smoother/ better? I would think any modification of standard L.R. drive train may need axle upgrading, can you explain the pros/cons, forgive me for my questioning, but I am genuinely interested in this subject. [ doesn't mean I am going to do it , but would love to be able to ] I would assume that going down this path , As each component of the drive train is strengthened, so you must strengthen the others to eliminate failure in the system. I think a D2 with a modified drive train down this track would be an awesome machine [ expensive, yes, dreaming, of course ] Bob
