Hi All,

It's been a while since I've dabbled in radio's of any type, the last time I touched on any type of CB we used SSB... and to be honest it was bought just to communicate around some big stations out in the centre of the country... nothing fancy.

Anyway the time has come where I am looking to buy a new CB/Radio and I have some questions that I am hoping to find answers for...

So far I've been looking at GME but I am open to any suggestions or recommendations that people may have. As I look at the feature set I really am trying to get a better Idea of what people call a 'base feature set' so to speak. e.g. a minimum for going on 4wd club outings (specifically the land rover club(s)). Then I guess what are the nice to have features? or what is essential for going outback etc.

So far I have the minimum specs of
40 channel, UHF, 5watt.

Any advice or feedback would be really appreciated.

Regards,

J.

Yep - that's all you need.
Buy GME or Uniden - for local part availability.

For close convoy work, hand helds are pretty good these days.
