Hey all,

I was just after a bit of advice, I have a stage one and i have just replaced the clutch (what a job) because I kept loosing my new clutch slave cylinder which lead to me opening the box to find the pressure plate was in bad state and the throw out bearing banging around after only two years prior to replacement.

I think the reason was because of the bush in the fork was completly worn and had excessive play causing more travel for the push rod?

Anyway after getting the new clutch, slave and fork bush in it's still not right I managed to take it for a quick spin only to find i still had a leaky slave which I'm gonna replace again, but of most importance I lost all gears in my gearbox

It still sounds like it's going in to gear but I have nothing and now I'm really worried I'm going to be up for a reco box:mad:

Any advice would be great if anyone has done this before, maybe it's just a cog in the box? I'm in syd if anyone can recommend any good rover gearbox mechanics.

Regards,

Nick

This is so basic it might have been overlooked, you are in ratio? ie high not neutral. Easy to knock the lever.
If so, was the loss of gears accompanied by any noises? You may have broken an axle, try putting the difflock in.
Very unusual to lose all gears & it be the gearbox. Anyway it would likely be the transfer box.

In addition to that - try engaging the CDL and seeing if you have drive. Broken front axles are common in stage 1s with isuzus.

If that doesn't help, then the centre diff is probably my next guess.

Thanks heaps Deejay and isuzurover for your advice! Deejay your where right on the money and i hadn't adjusted the hi/lo lever and i was in netural:angel:

Anyway, it all seems to have gone back together and working until the next landrover surprize. The joy's of maintaining everything thing outside of that wonderful engine:D
