I have recently sent a post about my wifes car a 2003 TD5 and the rotor filter being quite. This post is not about my wifes car, but my 1999 td5.

Today , I think we became a victim of the Oil Pump Bolt failure.

Symptoms were just a slight rattle and maybe vibration and slight surging up a hill. I looked at the engine oil light and it was on....!!!!!. Had to continue about 600 to 700 metres before we could get off the road and shut it down. had been slowing driving around a car park just before that.

Cars been towed home and will be sent to MR automotive when they can fit it in. Will find out for sure then but, that's what I think it is. Too scared to start it again or try anything else in case I do more damage than we already have.

I have done the bolt on my wifes car last year. It was tight but no sign of loctite. Reading forums about this seems to point mainly at the 99 models as failing. Should have done mine, but have not had time,, ..

Can this be diagnosed on a computer?. If so has anyone got a diagnostic computer in the Redlands area Brisbane bayside.?

nope if you think its the oil pump bolt and its shut down leave it that way...

only way to tell is to pull the sump.

Maybe you 're lucky and the wire from oil pressure sensor(behind the turbo downpipe) has melted and grounds itself on the engine..has happened to me.
