View Full Version : Where to buy Blank Key Blades

I bent my key...and thought I would be clever and straighten it using a hydralic press. :( :bangin:

The press won, the blade split. Where can I get blank keyblades, preferably locally in Australia, but otherwise ok.

Hi

My local locksmith had full metal blanks. I had one cut as a back up key but it wont let you start the car without the emergency access code.

If you want replacement blades for the factory remote try UK ebay. I bought a couple from there. Non genuine but still work fine.

otherwise if your locksmith has the suitable blank he could cut the thumb piece off and grind down the blade to fit in the handset (have seen this done)

ps best to get the key code from LRA too rather than copy your old one

According to Roverparts' (Ballarat) parts listing:
Up to VIN...XA999999 the key is 315MHz and part number is CWE100700KIT
From VIN...YA000001 the key is 433MHz and part number is CWE100680KIT

pretty sure that will be for a complete key and fob.
