Hi all,
I'm wondering if somebody could recommend a reputable workshop (or a knowledgeable enthuisiast - I'm happy to compensate for your time) to carry out a prepurchase inspection on a 110 TD5 ute in the chermside area. I can be reached either on here or on 0438813913.
Thanks
Mark

when? I may be heading out to scarborough to pick up a fridge and cupboard in the next 72 hours and if I can schedule it I can look at it for you.

MR Automotive at Kippa Ring are very good but also very busy so you;d have to book in well ahaed.
Dave is your best option though - he's cheap (and easy) and a top fella to boot.

I'll be in scarborough at Ivan place picking up a wardrobe and some other minor stuff to take back to the end of the court where you found me. (as per the clean up ipswich thread)
I should be there about 0700-0730 before heading back to do an inspection on a 110 then picking up alex and heading back to karalee before taking him back to indooropilly for a dental apointment.

scoped it... took all of about 1 minute to realise its shot...
cooling system had only water in it.
the water had oil floating on it.
the turbo hoses were split and deformed.
the cooling system over pressurised and spat water out in under a minute
it was very hard to start.
the rest of the body/chassis/running gear appeared reasonable...
the asking was $13K and he was willing to come down to $11K. I had a good long talk with the dealer.
hes had it for a few months and it wont shift (not surprised) all up it owes the dealer 9.5K and he will let it go for that as is.
My estimation on the vehicle is that with the engine sorted it might be worth between 13-15K if everything else checks out OK. Ive been asked to quote on sorting the engine.
I took a photo of the vehicle and the vin plate and promised him I would get him a price on the parts to sort it and would post it up here at 9.5K as is but that it was unlikely to garner any interest.
