In today's Brisbane Courier Mail is this attached article on Overlander Mag 4WD of the Year the Nissan Navara. If you read it you will notice my highlighted sections which discuss said vehicle's off road prowess which appears to be slightly rat ****..Are they serious if they are, it's nothing but a joke IMHO.
What do members think.

Overlander has kept up with market changes and expectations how many new 4WD's actually see off road nowdays?

Slight clarification. The Pathfinder's suspension struggles to put the power to the ground. It is also independent suspension. The two facts are not necessarily linked, and full independent can be better offroad sometimes than full live.

What would Overlander know anyway? Weren't they the ones that suggested that only drivers of 4wds with fully floating axles should venture into the flood affected zones?:wasntme:

This would be a valid viewpoint, if it was the NRMA or RACV/Q et al with mainstream readership, but from a niche magazine focused on actually using a 4x4's abilities it only makes sense as sarcasm :p

I think it's funny that Toyota still couldn't win even when LR's aren't in it. Pat

True, but i still can't work out how the sales of those ugly looking Prado's that everyone including many motoring mags are putting **** on,lead the class by around double the nearest competiter.
Must be the company fleets i suppose?

Thats the reason.Prado and hilux sales are high because they are classed as a consumeable in the resource industry. Pat

Sorry, but it'd take a Pajero over a pathfinder anyday. I dont think I have ever heard anyone say the Pathfinder is good off road. But as mentioned above the magazine directs the review at their audience and if the audience wants what the pathfinder does best then its the 4wdoty to them. I dont agree with it but im sure the mag has their reasons.
What other 4wd's were in the test?
