hi all,
having problems with connecting the tele flat screen, plus dvd player and the foxtel in one. need to keep switching cables depending on what were viewing ex. tele or foxtel. how do i connect the connectors to then be able to watch and select tv/video without changing wires. foxtel has two sets of wires coming out standard red yellow and white x2 cables. tele has room for one only. it cant be that complicated surely. am i missing something like extra cables or is one enough for the job. cheers any help appreciated :(

The scart plugs on the foxtel box ( the huge things) what color leads do they have? Guessing Yellow/Red/White
The tv has composite (red green blue) and s video (round multi pin), the dvd certainly has composite output so that should be the solution. You'll also need Red/White for audio. Composite will give better quality.
If you need a set give me a pm.

What about the HDMI cables. Dont they use AV plugs at the foxtel etc end and then a plug type at the other end?
Means you can use the HDMI plug on the telly as opposed to the AV plugs freeing up the AV plugs for the other item you want to connect.

Just to clarify things a bit (I hope). What Clubagreenie said is correct, but just to elaborate a bit, the 5 connections on the back of the telly marked 'Y Pb Pr L & R' are the ones he is talking about. Your DVD player should have the same set of connections as this. If you have a couple of spare sets of the Red, White & Yellow cables hanging around, these will work. Plug them in so they match on the telly and on the DVD player. If your DVD has an HDMI output - as Ace suggested, then this is even easier. Just plug the HDMI cable into the DVD and Telly, and your away. If you want to PM me, I can give you my phone number if you want a hand being talked through it all.
Cheers -Gav.
