Get me one to :D I'll pay you back, promise

Seriously, they are a top vehicle, dont hear many bad things about them, handle well on road and go hard off road.

Do it. The guy I work with has one, and they are awesome. Everytime we have to go somewhere, I nag him for a drive, which thankfully he obliges. He says he won't leave the keys lying around, 'Coz Gav would steal it in a flash':D

- and I would!!!

After 4 years of towing race cars with new Patrols, best mate traded a '10 in on a 06 RRS.

He doesnt wonder why he traded the D2 TD5 in on a Patrol, he wonders why it took so long for me to talk him into coming HOME.

Take it from him,, there is NO comparison.

I got a 07 RRS`two months ago - one of the best decisions I have made.

You know you want it:).

Just do it.

It is a shame they have dropped the TDV8 from the RRS lineup.

Hi Garry,

This is a "I don't know the answer" question but how does the new 3.0L twin turbo stack up against the bigger engine?

I know that there is a power and torque difference but do the extra pots and capacity justify the outcome...if you understand what I'm asking?

Cheers,

Kev.

Drove both for a weekend before buying the 3.0 ltr. When you push them hard, the TDV8 has the edge in mid-range acceleration. From a standing start though, I actually thought the TDV6 was quicker (no lag).

Cheers,

Gordon

Having just had my petrol V8 RRS serviced last week, the tales the dealer's were telling of the TDV8's were somewhat eye opening. They had one in with a turbo failure, the replacement of which required taking the body off :o £2000 + VAT just to take the body off.

Apparently they'd done several recently, along with one car where a manifold gasket had failed 3 weeks after the turbos were replaced, cue the body having to come off *again* to fix it. The phrase "it's incredibly tightly packaged with the TDV8" was mentioned a couple of times....

I'll stick to my petrol V8 or a TDV6 thanks :)

I have had no problems with either of mine. The V8 petrol has not been a big seller in OZ in fact was told that my dealer had only sold 2 last year while selling about 40 RRS in total.

Gotta love those long distance purchases where you get to drive it for ages just after buying it because you have to, not because you want to :D

I wonder if the 4.4TDV8 will appear in the RRS in a year or so; suspect LR are trying to keep sales of the Vogue up by reserving the TDV8 just in that car - who knows!

I'm told the 4.4 TDV8 doesn't physically fit in the RRS
