Morning all!
I've been trying to track down our 2002 D2s sluggishness at lower revs. Gutless is best description. Last week I disconnected the MAF sensor and took it for a run. Holy smoke! It's back! very responsive, lots of power even down low with the 2000 -2500 rpm slug it feels great to drive.
Bought a can of MAF cleaner and gave the MAF a good go, but barely any noticeable difference (if any). Disconnect the MAF and wayhey we're away again.
Can anyone tell me:
1) Will it damage anything running with the MAF disconnected? Or will it just mess up my economy?
2) Looking at related causes: are intercooler/turbo hose delamination/splits; or wastegate/wg modulator probs; or oil in the loom (I'll check that one today) likely to result in this behaviour?
3) Is it simply likely to be a stuffed MAF.. if so where in Brisbane is best to get these things? FWD yeronga are close by (ish)
As always thanks in advance for your wisdom! :D
Cheers
