Well on our last night shift my mate i decided we will fight the elements from Cyclone Bianca and push through to our favourite muddie spot.Bianca was sitting just past Dampier when we made the call to go so it was'nt made lightly we new the wind would be up and we may cop a little rain but the major blow had passed so bugger it we will take the dingy but baggs not washing it when we get back.We headed off at 04:00am to get a head start 130 km of tar and 300 km of unsealed road to travel, as they had shut the access road. As soon as we hit the bush road i thought bugger, think we should of left the boat behind this time.We had to push through some mighty long mud sections and creek crossings but soon as the sun come out it did'nt seem as bad and i had a good feeling we where going to get some nice muddies. When i thought we had won the battle and the tar was in reach with at this stage no damage done we hit a river that was rushing way to fast. The call was made to wait it out so after a little swim we thought we may need to doze the water away to stop the boat from floating past me , thank got my mate had his swag bag ,the one i always give him **** for.On went the swag bag with a few cable ties and the line was picked. You little ripper made it accross and an hour later the dingy was in the water and we where having a ball, a crab a pull ,had our limit before sun down and to cap it off i cought a nice mangove jack.Swags rolled out for a relaxing sleep under the stars and all i could think of was the unreal adventure we had all in one day.

Nice work Pilbara!
Cyclones always seem to get the crabs a walking.
Using traps we nabbed 27 nice bucks over three days just this weekend. Plenty of fresh in the rivers so ran the pots out in the bay. mmmm fresh crab sandwiches.
