The reason for this thread is to seek some special help.
My cousin in the west has lost contact with her bridesmaid from Grantham. The usual enquiries with the police and red cross has been just to record my cousins name, but they cant tell her anything. Quite some time has now passed since the disaster, hence my request.
I would like to ask if there is anyone living close to Granthem, who could do a drive by and report back as to the state of their house, or whats left of it, or any other info that would give us some clue as to their fate,

Any info would be more than we have now.

We would be very gratefull if this could be carried out soon as my cousin is getting distraught.

I will PM details to anyone who could do this for me.

Thanking you in anticipation

Brian

Brian, Thats great Mate. Good news I hope.
My heart goes out to all in the path of Murphys/ Lockyer Cks. Seeing the shear volume of debris and soil deposited and carved away is difficult to explain.
Like anything, the footage gives only a hint to the reality.
Let me know if i can assist further, might be out there again this weekend.
Dave.

Thanks Dave,
yes a good result. They are situated some way out town on a hill, and were completely free of any damage, except for the lost phones and power.

You are right I really feel for the rest of the valley, devastated is more the feeling for them.

One wonders how anyone can recover even now so many are still unaccounted for.

We toy with nature, and all of a sudden, she turns around and bites us, and there is nothing we can do but attempt to stand in its way. Now and then there is no standing in the way.

I have lived thru several floods in Moree in the 70's , but it was nothing like this, so hard to understand.

My cousin is over the moon as this is the first contact that she has had since the devastation, we were beginning to feel the worst.

We cant thank the people who helped enough.

Cheers and kind regards,
Brian
