Well our first day on went well. Currently sitting in a free camp about 30km west of Horsham. Old disco cruised on 90kmh all day and got bloody thirsty on fuel, but what can youi expect really. when we pulled up at the camp site I went to turn around and got the disco and van bogged to the axle. Had to unhook the van and whinch the disco out and then turn around and winch out the van, now all covered in black smelly mud.
cheers

Want all the power I can get JC, EGT's are creeping up a little at times (seen 750 a few times for short periods), normally around 350 to 450. Engine temp seen 105 today for a while with the aircon on,sorted that and turned to aircon off (didnt seem that good anyway), mostly in the high 90's
thanks for every thing Jc (your one of kind mate)

Thanks kindly for the offer Bigjon, we have a shower in the van. But I just went into the toilet block where we are and tipped a couple of buckets of water over me, oh it was so refreshing.

Well, IT BEGINS!!
I was going to offer you a park in the shade of gumtrees, rainwater and power and even a BBQ tea on the way past, but you seem to be going "the low road"!!
So enjoy, there is still lots to see on that route..bordertown,kieth , tinty, murray bridge and freeway to adelaide...lots to see in hills, eg hahndorf (hans hysen gallery and "the pines" (his house) If I recall correctly good bakery in bordertown too! (The big fella would be better suited to advise)
or divert to the coast- some nice stuff around there too!
(are you geocaching along the way? Find lots of interesting stuff & places youd never know were there otherwise)
Have a great (and easy!) trip... Doing the worlds longest golf course across the "flat" to WA?
PS (well not PS its before the end...MMM... maybe its just "S" ??) Anyway fuel price cycle in adelaide hits the lows on wed/thurs I believe so refuel then if you can! (I dont live in adelaide so am going on what Ive been told so I hope thats right!)
Cheers, lots of pics please!

If you're playing "the golf course" Blaze, and it's two weeks or more before you get to this end of it, give us a yell.
I'm off back up north to work this morning (currently sitting drinking coffee at Perth airport) - but will be back home in two weeks.
Cheers .......... BM

well the old disco struggled today with the temps. struggled to keep it down under 105 degrees, at 105 the gauge starts going up and not nice when seeing 108. I know its still in the safe zone but its a worry when towing about 1850kg. Had to turn the aircon off as that seemed to give me about 5 degrees more. Will see if I can find someone in the barrossa to have a look tomorrow.

Sounds like the radiator needs a good clean out. My disco is doing the same thing, going into Natrad for a rodding out when I have the cash.

Sorry to hear Rob, yes 43 degrees ambient has got a lot to do with it I'm afraid.
Knock off 10 degrees and unhook the van and it'll be fine:D
I actually was wondering if you were going to park it up for today, or get an early start and rest during the middle of the day.
