Suspect Water in Connectors-Fault Indicators

I am sure I have seen a similar report to this before but cant find it. I was out in the high country last week when I went through a pretty small puddle in the road. Now I am getting multiple fault indicators including, HDC Failure, suspension failure, brake failure and lowering vehicle. When I restart problems goes away for a while but did return for a day. Everything was OK for the next day then another puddle and away we went again. It makes it very challenging when crossing a creek and starting out the opposite bank with a steep climb ahead and the car wants you to stop. Any help please.

Ok, so unlikely to be the wheel sensor cable ( I think that was fixed for 2007 models).

Have you checked the cable connectors inside the air compressor housing and behind the little plastic flap in the rear passenger wheel well?

Wouldn't be a brake globe or is that only pre MY 07?

I have checked and I do have a brake globe out

If the filament shorts it can cause those sorts of faults.
Replace with a decent quality globe. See if it sorts the problem.

Sounds similar to a fault I had.

I had an 'alien' brake bulb which I replaced with a genuine one. Cured the problem for a week, then it happened again.

Another forum member mentioned wheel alignment as my steering wheel wasn't straight when driving straight....if you see what I mean.

I've just had this done as part of a service, but the service manager reckons the fault lies with the 'brake switch'.

They had none in stock, but since the wheel alignment has been done.....all's well.

Still gonna fit the brake switch, when it arrives, though.

The last time it happened I was braking whilst approaching a roundabout. However, I noticed the vehicle didn't lower until I took my foot off the brake.

'Spose you could left foot brake until clear of a creek crossing.

Do you know what they mean by the "brake switch". I will certainly change the bulb but it is genuine. I suppose I am wondering if there is a link between water, "brake switich" and blown bulb?

When I had mine in for it's last service in the middle of January I asked them to check for any faults logged as it had done the hissy and dropped the suspension for no apparent reason twice. No codes were logged and the dealer could not offer a suggestion as to why it had done it. Yesterday someone told me I have a brake light out........

Not quite sure what the brake switch is, but the mechanic reckoned that a home mechanic could change it in about 5 or 10 mins.

Price is just under 30 bucks.

Seems that this switch (or maybe sensor) falls out of calibration when you're tooling about and causes a fit in the tin brain.

Should get mine in the next couple of days, so I'll post a pic.
