I'm having a go at doing a custom center dash. I'm thinking of moving the standard fuel gauge to the center dash next to the aux fuel gague I've got

While I haven't checked the wiring length is there any reason why I cant splice in an extension section in the loom if needed.

I recall someone saying that the fuel gauge current is very small and splicing wires in can't be done?

Might help if we knew what vehicle you are talking about, but I can't think of any Landrover that would have any problem with an increase in wire length.

And if the current is small, in any application, this means that there is less problem with a longer wire.

Note that the gauge needs to be properly earthed or at the least, the lighting will not work, and if it is a post-Series Landrover the gauge reading will be incorrect.

JDNSW,

Sorry usually always add vehicle type as it does tend to help

It's a 2001 TD5 Defender 110.

Thanks again for the advice
