View Full Version : Removing the A Bar from the D3

Does anyone know if/where I can get hold of plugs to fill the holes that will be left in the bumper after removing the A Bar?
Not a huge fan of the look of the A Bar and it doesn't look like it does anything other than adding a bit of weight to the front end and prevent the bonnet from closing easliy...The plastic clips that hold the top of the A Bar to the chassis are all broken so I've removed them, seems strange to have a nudge bar fixed to the car (at the top) using flimsy plastic clips...They do more damage than good..

For anyone wondering what I'm talking about...

You can get metal replacements for the A-bar brackets from Mantec:

Would allow you to mount an aerial (UHF) and better support suspended driving lights. I similarly replaced the brackets on my Defender A-bar.

Any place that fits D3 bullbars will probably have, for free, complete bumpers you can refit.

Or just put an ARB bar on ;-)

Yes the nudgie is pretty hopeless. It's not even sturdy enough for lights. Just extra weight with nil protection imho.
