OK, our daughter is wanting to upgrade from her Toyota Camry and after driving Rons P38a Range Rover was looking at getting the L322 TD6 after I showed her some on Carsales and how cheap they were with low Ks.
As she isn't a member here, she wanted me to ask for her, mainly about reliability and any common issues/faults they may have, fuel economy and so on.

Redback,I have had one problem with mine and that was a flat key fob battery, other than that it's done 80,000k's since I bought it and it's been fine. It's very easy to drive,as you would know visibility is very good, running costs are pretty unreal 10ltres per hundred average and service kits are very cheap and easily bought from the UK.They are like the tardis, bigger on the inside and with two adults and two kids there is more than enough room for gear. Hi Baz, they had heaps of problems when they were released but most if not all were resolved during warranty, with one exception and thats the front diff disaster.
But this is a problem that was eventually permanently fixed at Land Rover’s expense, even on L322 that were out of warranty.
Just make sure the fix was carried out on any L322s you may look at.
Otherwise, for the low price you can buy these at, makes for a great vehicle.

Thanks Tim, so the later the better obviously, when were they first released?

My research told me that all TD6 vehicles needed the diff recall, even the facelift (post 2005) ‘Vogue’ models. It’s an easy check. World wide all affected RRs are still slowing being done, late 2004 (mine) to mid 2005 built cars were getting the new diff last year, so If you’re looking at 2004 to 2006 check it out. It will also be possible for the earlier ones to miss out if they have not been looked after by a LR dealer, to my knowledge nothing was sent out to owners, the fix was done at next service, so if the car has been serviced else where it won’t happen… And in no way am I advocating that the dealers are better than another service centre – for the record all my Disco 2 problems stopped when I stopped visiting the LR dealer…
Our 2004 TD6 has thrown the “Air Suspension Inactive” hissy fit once. The suspension was locked in the standard height until the fault was cleared. We could still drive the car and were not let down in any way. My research tells me that this occurred because of a communication problem between ECUs and has not happened again, although it does seem a bit stupid that the system won’t try to communicate again until the fault is cleared – just locks down.
Only other issue I’ve had - the pixels are now buggered on the radio display.
In all it's been a very good car.

BS Baz, its for you. We all know that old POS disco is on its last legs.
Seriously though check out fullfatrr.com (they know the td6 stuff) and range rovers.net (us based where they didnt get the diesel but interesting stuff)
From the research i have beeen doing lately Baz, they are very reliable apart from a few issues. They are not common, but do happen.
Turbo - normally killed due to not changing the breather filter in the rocker cover. New Replacement - 700-1000 pounds plus freight ex UK (or rebuilt at the same price of any other turbo)
Low preasure fuel pump - sometimes just dies. Easy to change, (like 5 minutes) and cost 150-300 pounds plus freight ex uk.
radio or dash pixles, normally faulty connection in the ribbon.
GEARBOX - Landrover call it unservicable.... my ass. The one in my car got to 250,000kms before cooking due to a blocked cooler. So service them and clean the cooler....
cv boots tear. (about as common as any other cv boot)
Injectors sometimes go. About 150-200 Pounds each new, but 2nd hand ones can be had cheaper.
Hi preasure fuel pumps can go if you run them on crap diesel ( i think this is the problem with mine ATM) Pumps reco'ed ex uk are 300 pound.
trim on the seat cracks, and the black colouring seems to wear.
Tell her she can take mine for a wrap when its fixed.
