Was at work the other day and for some reason as I passed a fellow worker filling out his work sheet I remembered part of this old ditty. Strange how the old fart mind works. Any way it goes like this. It was a dark and stormy night. The dunny light was dim. I heard a splash I heard a cry. Oh no some one has fallen in. Now is there more to this?

I remember something like it but it went:


It was a dark and stormy night
and the captain said to his mate-
"Give us a story, mate"
and this it the tale he told...

It was a dark and stormy night...

and then you just repeat the whole thing over and over again

T'was a dark and stormy night and the shipmate said to the captain, 'ere cap'n tell us a story.........and the captain began "T'was a dark and.........."

That's the pommie version I grew up with :D

The night was dark and stormy..

the lavatory light was dim..

there was a crash..

and a hell of a splash...........

I remember that, I'm sure that's all there was to it.

The other one that comes to mind,

One fine day n the middle of the night,
two soldiers came out to fight,
back to back they faced each other,
drew there swords and shot each other.

On a bright day in the middle of the night,
2 dead men got up to fight.
Back to back they faced each other,
drew their swords and shot each other.
A deaf policeman heard the noise
and came to arrest these 2 bad boys.
If you dont believe this lie is true.
As the blind guy - he saw it too...
