Well, I've finally done it - there's a galway green 110 wagon out there with my name on it! Unfortunately I have to wait till April/May but got a good deal at Tony Ireland in Townsville - very helpful. :D

Nice buy. I had to do a quick search for Galway Green, and it looks very very dark, almost black:

Did you order it with a white roof by any chance (my favourite combination - dark green with a white roof)? :p

Yes I have to remunerate Mr's Ho Hars invitation. For new, or older Defer owner it's an awesome day to meet others, and see what they have done to their Defers.
Congrats on the 110, it will be cool.

This was preordered by the dealer (he likes green ones too) so I didn't have a choice regarding roof colour. Otherwise I would have.

It was my understanding that MY11 Galway Green Defenders came standard with a white roof. Green is a great colour for a Defender, irrespective of the roof colour.

Only solid colours, i.e. Fuji, Tamar and Keswick, have a white roof and black wheel arches. All metallics have body colour roof and arches.

They are great people to deal with mate. We did a similar thing last year. We rang ever dealer listed on the Land Rover Aus web site on the east coast looking for anyone who had something other than white :p The boss said, get a new one, but not white
Tony Ireland had a stornaway grey in stock, so we snaffled it straight away & everything else was easy. They had everything ready to go when we arrived up there to pick it up. Hand over was done early on our request & they had no hesitations or problems.
We love ours, happy driving when it turns up mate. I couldn't wait that long :p it would near kill me :DLook forward to seeing it when it does.

That was the situation but not any more:
Tamar Blue (solid) - blue roof
Galway Green (metalic)- white roof
Santorini Black (metalic)- white roof
Stornoway Grey (metalic)- white roof
You can check these on both the LRUK and LRAu websites.

I think mine is called Keswick Green (but it was bought a few years ago and am not 100% sure of the colour name....) but definitely metallic dark green with a white roof:

Information comes from LRAU. Roof – body colour (when metallic paint ordered) (http://assets.config.landrover.com/v2jag/lr/au/l316/optoly_au_l316_n-080ac.jpg)
Wheel arches – body colour (when metallic paint ordered)

Have a look at Defender / Explore / Exterior Colours (STATION WAGON | Land Rover Australia (http://www.landrover.com/au/en/lr/defender/explore/station-wagon/)). Select each colour in turn and see what the colour combo you get. Your link just takes me off to an image of a Defender rather than text.

Yes, for some reason, every dealer has white models on the way. Maybe there is an oversupply of white from the factory.

I see what you are looking at but they are the standard UK photos and some models shown are not available here. e.g Stornoway 90 pick up.
For AU spec you need to go to Defender / Explore / Trim & Styling.
Body coloured roof and arches, although listed as options and upgrades, are standard on metallics for the AU market and to the best of my knowledge for any colour 110 SW in the UK, even the solids.

Fair enough. Happy to stand corrected. Not sure what that means for the Black 110 I saw with a white roof though. I will send and email of LRAu to see what they say and will report back.

With LR there are always exceptions to the rule. Take spudboys white roof on a metallic above for example.
And the HD white steel wheels on a 110SW. I pleaded with LR several times to get these wheels factory fitted ex UK but was told no can do. Had to have alloys. :(

The other odd thing is that MY11 Defenders are turning up without rear wiper washers, yet the website says they are standard on Defender Station Wagons. Still, none of this is new with Land Rover!

David G,
You will not be disappointed in your colour selection.
Pictures of my new truck, and the old one I had on loan attached.
Originally I was looking at light blue, but couldn't wait 6 months due to a blown head gasket in the not LR 4wd. Haven't looked back.

When I bought mine, the dealer haggled over the front mud flaps (my 110 turned up sans front mudflaps).
In every single picture on the web or in a brochure they are shown with front mud flaps. No mention of it being an optional accessory.
They ever so graciously "gave in" and supplied them to me FOC as a "goodwill gesture" after 3 or 4 phone calls (must have cost them -oooh $50).
I see the rear wiper is headed the same way.
Lucky they turn up with a steering wheel really......

I've got a price list from a Brisbane dealer from a couple of months ago - front mud flaps are listed as an option for $495! It doesn't mention rear washer though.

My new Puma 110 turned up today on the back of a truck.
It also without rear wash wipe and front mud flaps. However I am really pleased to receive my Keswick green landie.
Does anybody know where I could obtain a decat pipe in W.A if available at all ?
