Gday all

Found out last night that when you think you have passed a tree branch have another look. tore the canvas,bent the rear hoop and its mounting and sheared the bolt on the cross brace. all this while helping a 80 series that was stuck. as tony abbott would say s**t happens.:(

Gazz - that is not nice - mine also has a large cut from going under a low piece of pipe. I got my tilt from AJ (used) and was the Aust Army olive drab colour. Be careful what colour you choose as some people have differing views what is Khaki and green - I assume yours should be green.

So, in your opinion Gary, What colour is mine? Does it appear to be the same colour as yours?

Hi Mick - that pic you put up looks green. My hood is khaki - basically the same colour as olive drab paint.

You will see in the attached pic the hood colour is basically the same as the painted body which is standard army olive drab.

I think that the colour you have goes with the British Army green coloured 101s.

I'll have to look around for a khaki one then.
Is it possible to paint or dye them?

Cannot help with that though I have seen painted camo hoods but I do not know what the paint does to the canvas in the long term.

There is a 101 canvas for sale( it is suppose to be in good condition) though a fellow Aulro member for 650 dollars.
