I sent an email to Paddocks in the UK. I have heard they are slow in reponding, I sent a postage charge request on a safari snorkel. as I don't want just buy one with out knowing the postage charge.
but how long do they usually take to respond to emails?

I have bought several items from Paddocks....they do not appear to respond well to emails....unless you can direct it to a specific person. They post out fast.

I ordered and paid for two distributors for the 2.25 and they sent me 4....I just love them:p

they wont respond to a postage request...you have to buy the item then they will give you a postage quote if your not happy with the quote then they refund your money. if you are happy then they just charge your card for the postage.

Its annoying the way they do it but I guess they must get Soooooo many postage quotes that amount to nothing and become a time wasting exercise.

However I buy from paddocks a fair bit and if you can get lots of other smaller bits sent at the same time even though postage is high you do save money.

I recently bought heaps of things for my series, like a brand new radiator, shocks, drums. brake shoes...heaps of stuff! the postage was a killer but I still saved myself over 450bux doing it this way :)

You think they could incorporate a postage calculator like ebay etc on there web page.

There's a supplier that won't be on my list then. Basic customer service. Wether you get one or one hundred a day doesn't take much.

Goods service tells one, bad servcie tells a forum.

it does when you have to pack everything up and weigh it to find out there not interested anyway.
I think you would be surprised how much business goes through places like that and how many people from overseas buy from them:)

I buy from them, and have been emailing them a bit lately, i've emailed a few different people with no response, although i have mainly been dealing with Tom, he emails me back straight away (well the next day due to time difference), he even gives me costings on postage.
He was shocked when i told him its much cheaper to buy arb, super pro and safari products from them as they are australian companies.
Oh and for those who think its bad service, they sent me the wrong braided brake lines (not there fault, goodrich packed them wrong), sent me the correct ones free of charge, arrived within a week.:)

I just work out the time difference and ring them. So far all have been on the ball. Works for me.

Goodrich lines are  . Must be cheap atm. Think I paid about $120 for 5, extended 2", a few years ago.

cheers, DL

I was about to buy some stuff from Paddocks last week, as they had D2 air bags for 68 quid, as well as some other stuff. I ended up getting the other stuff locally, however I might still get the bags.

Johncraddocks but still a UK company

thanks for that, i should have been more specific, i am looking to order from the UK, as i usually get my parts from Roverparts Plus in Ballarat, but the prices are much more attractive from the UK

initially i was going to order from them, and still might, i was just not sure about how long it might take for them to get back to me after i placed an order

do you think it would be worth giving them a call after ordering? rather than relying on email?

Not the UK - but I have found Atlantic British USA Land Rover Parts & Rover Accessories From Atlantic British | Discovery, Range Rover, LR3, LR2, Defender, Freelander and Land Rover Series Parts & Accessories (http://www.roverparts.com/) to be cheaper on some parts than the UK sites - and service was very good.

Parts in Melbourne in 6 days after finalising order. :D

If you are fairly certain you are going to go ahead with the order, then just place your order, and wait for the email with the quote for postage.

I have found recently that they usually respond in around 24 hours, but maybe 48 or so.

Mind you, if you are in a hurry, just give them a call.

I bought a Safari snorkel off them recently, they quoted GBP175 for shipping. I added a decat pipe and an air filter to the order and the shipping cost stayed the same.
Emailing them is a little hit and miss, try sophie @ paddocketc (-@-paddocketc). as well as tom @ paddocketc.
When I was going through my order, it was just after the blizzards and also Tom took some time off, so it was a bit disjointed, they did make an effort though.
Order was shipped quickly once we'd settled on content.
