For the next hour or so if you follow the below link you can see the moon as my telescope tracks it across the sky. Happy viewing!

It's a celestron 4se, so it's up there as far as power is concerned. With the right eyepiece and you can see Jupiter clearly, Saturn's rings and Mars and it's moons. I'm using a usb camera that plugs into the eyepiece and doubles what you can see but if I plug it into the barlow lens you it's amazing, The moons nearly gone here now but if its clear tomorrow night I'll set it up again with the barlow lens.

A friend of mine has a good one (don't ask me power or type, I haven't got a clue)...he lives in the foothills of Perth and we could see the Saturn rings etc quite clearly. Almost a mystical experience and makes you really feel like a non entity in the grand scheme of things.
Last I heard from him he was buying a motor to fit on it so he could set it to follow the target across the night sky. It's amazing how quickly those things move out of alignment and we were fighting with keeping them in view. Some awsome sights to see. Everything was shown upside down with his, he received it as a present and is just getting into that sort of thing properly so no doubt in a very short time he will have a really good set-up.
Thanks for the opportunity.

I'm going to switch it on again at around 9:30 but this time I'll attach the camera to a barlow lens which doubles the magnification so should give some very nice views of craters.

Many years ago, I owned an 8" Newtonian Reflector on an Equatorial Mount with manual slow motion controls. The views of the Moon and the Planets was unbelievable, also some of the Nebulae such as M42 in the Constellation of Orion ( the Horse Head Nebula) came up not too badly. Sadly, I sold the telescope many years ago but have always had an armchair interest in Astronomy.
I notice some of the photo's that can be taken by the amateur nowadays rivals many of the professional photo's taken 30 years ago. The advent of computers and a softwear programme (Registax, I think its called??) can mean you build up a photo layer by layer until you have an absolutely brilliant photo of an astronomical object.
Anyrate looking forward to looking at the moon through your telescope.:D

seeing how there seems to be so much interest in this i'll stream it every clear night from 930 till around midnight when the moon is gone. I'm planning a trip up to my property in a couple of weeks so I should be able to get good shots of the planets, I'm only a few km from the cbd here so light pollution is bad and you can't get alot detail if any. I'm really glad people are enjoying this as much me. I'm very new to the hobby and any tips people may have would be greatly appreciated.

You'd think you would be able to but there must be a reason why you can't. Anyone know?

Sorry mate, you must have started looking just as i was turning it off. The moon goes behind a huge tree here at about midnight. I'll set it up again tonight if it isn't cloudy.

for those who are interested there is a very simple website for amateur astronomers and space perverts which can send you to many complex links
SpaceWeather.com -- News and information about meteor showers, solar flares, auroras, and near-Earth asteroids (http://www.spaceweather.com)
I look at it every day

Caught it tonight, but the picture seemed out of focus and pixilated. Can you get a sharper picture usually? Mind you this was at 12.17AM

The image i was broadcasting last night was pretty sharp save the usual atmospheric problems. I reckon you had problems cause i turned it off at 12.00 lol. You were prob getting the very last frame as I was removing the camera and for some reason it has just kept broadcasting that frame. Hopefully tonight will be clear again. I'll leave it on till 1.00 tonight, the moon is rising a bit later.

don't know what to say, cept i turned it off at 12....lol who knows. Still cloudy here though. I bought the telescope at xmas and i've had maybe 10 clear nights since. I'll post cloudy on this thread when the nights are bad so as not to keep people hanging. And tonight is bloody cloudy.....I'm glad you're enjoying it.
