Check the rubber coupling. When you find it's failed, change to std flange, kits around $80- by memory(???) plus need to aleter/replace tailshaft.
On this topic, I have measured a D1 vs a D2 and looks like the gbox to diff length is the same. Is it possible to replace diff flasnge with D1 unit and also use D1 tailshaft? Haven't seen mention of this in any discussions I've seen to date.

Is there a weight missing from the tail shaft?
