A friend of mine is staying the night. Wasn't game to try to drive back to Katherine. When I was there a week and a half ago we had no rain at all for about 4 days - very steamy though.

Wise move. They are only using the high side of the Elizabeth River Bridge.

We are now on Cyclone warning as of 1700 today.

I left the boat 15mins ago and my wind guage was jammed on 60knts..

I recon we've had far more than 80mm at home in the last 3 hrs..pumped the pool 3 times in the last 14hrs.

highway was only passable to high clearance cars at Acacia hill about 2 hrs ago due to flooding..

Getting windy, but along way to go till Yasi or Tracey winds.

Cheers Ean

Yeh, hope the bloody tree behind our house will blow over but no luck yet.

Plenty of rain, and lots of flooding but nothing to outragious.

It seems to be doing a lap of Darwin, so we are all just waiting..

Went to work down the boat today and couldn't beleive how little amount of traffic was on the road.

Think 500mm wont be out of the question for the last 36hrs..

Cheers Ean

Apparently the met bureau are expecting Darwin to get over 1000mm (1m) over the week.

River was at 11metres yesterday morning. No doubt will get higher.

I reckon we got more rain in the last 24hrs than the previous 24..The previous was 365mm, but think we got more than that.

Got windy last night about midnight, had a few things hit the windows, but no damage overall..

Oh well back to work.

Cheers Ean

It doesn't all go in the gauge when the wind blows it horizontal. ;)

Hi All

Ean there aren't many vehicles there to move that are worth it but I had to move two landy's to higher ground already:):D

The river is still going up but at a slower rate at the moment, it's only at 12.5 metres at the moment:) at 13.7 it's in the house:) At least I can walk out in the backyard and have a look I guess, :) it's better than fishing off the verandah:)
