View Full Version : Strange Occurrence

So yesterday in Newcastle there was a fairly big rain storm. I drove home in it and thankfully no leaks in the new PUMA !

However, on my way to soccer practice the internal light began flickering.:o I wasnt sure why, but I stopped and shut all the doors thinking that maybe one wasnt shut properly.

Anyway, halfway through soccer training the alarm goes off. I went and checked, turned the alarm off. Then 10 minutes later it goes off again !!

So of course i am thinking some water has got in somewhere and is causing a short circuit. Its not happening now, and only happened the two times, but I am afraid of it happening again when the heavens open (not to mention a few river crossings)..............

Thoughts on what to do ?!

Like you all I can think is that there is a short or loose connection between one of the door switches and the alarm ecu.

Have you seen this post with the wiring diagram attached:

The door switches activate the internal lights via the ECU. That would account for the interior light flickering....it thought that one of the doors was open.

Take it back to the dealer with your description and they should test the circuits.

I have had a vision of the dealer's technicians testing the circuits in the car wash. :p;):D

In any case it's their problem to fix.

As an asid - is the alarm optional or standard?
I hate car alarms - they areeasy to circumvent and the only progress they usually stop is that of teh owners !

:D

They come with the territory.

They are a plague on all our houses...particularly at 2:00 am.

I've never had an issue with mine but with a bit of gear like the nanocom they can be taken out of service.
