tyre rubbing on radius arm

I am running 235/85-16 Maxxi Bighorn MTs on my 130. When I turn hard left, the tyre rubs on the radius arm, when I turn hard right, it does not. Does anybody know why? are the radius arms usually offset or do I have a bent one? (radius arm...)

Your stops must be adjusted differently each side.

Either that or a big lift and a standard panhard rod.

Or something is loose or (less likely), bent, for example, the drag link.

Just cralled under to have another look...
The black rubber "bushes" at the rear of the radius arms are dry and cracked, are these easy to replace? could this be the cause??
The stops are adjusted equally, no big lift, drag link and panhard appear in order... (how would I know if they are stuffed?)
Also: I measured the distance between the radius arm and a small extrusion on the chassis: Left = 1.5cm and Right = 0.5cm

Does sound a bit as if the problem could be the radius arm bushes, although I would also check the panhard rod. Also check that its anchorage to the steering box and chassis is not loose. The bushes at the back of the radius arm are quite easy to replace, the ones at the front and on the panhard rod, if the original steel sleeved rubber type, need a press or similar. But if some bushes are bad, others may be as well. Try using a large screwdriver or narrow tyre lever if you can get any movement on any of the bushes, particularly the ones on the panhard rod (panhard rod problems can be seen if you look down past the steering box, bonnet up, and have someone turn the wheels back and forth. If there is free play on the panhard bushes, you will see the steering box move sideways relative to the axle). You should barely be able to get just noticeable springy movement. Anything more than this, especially if it stays in place once moved means attention is required.

Looking at a set of poly bushes from the UK, do you reckon they would be any good? looking at the pics, it would appear they do not need a press, just a few beers and a weekend should be enough:angel:

Difficult to tell from the description - polybushes come in varying quality. No press required to install, but makes it a lot easier to get the old ones out, although it can be done without one.

I had the same problem on my disco when i fitted 33x12.5x15 all it was was the steering stops needed adjusting 1/4 of a turn i needed to add a longer bolt so i didnt strip the thread cheers

Just get Superpro. The only poly bush I'd consider (and use)

The impression I get is that for longevity stick with genuine rubber bushes.
They can certainly be replaced without a press, although as John stated it makes the job easier, particularly removing the old bushes.

Superpro are the only way to go. I originally fitted super-pro at the diff and rubber at the chassis. The rubber bushes failed after ~1000 km (of corrugated dirt road) so were replaced with super pro as well.

I first installed Super Pro rear trailing arm to chassis bushes about seven years ago and have done about 170000km since and they are still fine.
