Hello gents,
Thought it be time I said hello and send out a big thank you to the regular D3/D4/RRS posters on here. The information you guys share (provide) was pivotal in my decision to buy our first LR product.
I started shopping around in March 2010 (when I joined up here) for a 'family truck' to replace a VW Passat we had for the past three years. We lived in the CBD for two of those years and made the move to Alexandra/Lake Eildon last year. We do a bit of towing and trips down to Melbourne now and then so decided it was time for something more comfortable, capable and well, awesome.
I must say my dealings with the dealers was about 80% positive, so I call that a win, Especially helpful was MLR, though sadly didn't purchase from there. Even the salesman said my price I ended up with was too good not to take up. The D4 HSE came from Blacklocks, about the same distance from our place as MLR was. The car was ordered in August with a scheduled delivery date of February 11th, it was handed over to me on February 12th, a very good, no hassle transaction. Another major win!
So far, 1400kms down, the car is impeccable. I've added LLAMS height adjustment and Scorpion ATR's on the 19" wheels. Also have a set of 20" RRS wheels with 275/45 20's with Conti CrossContacts for the bitumen. (Need to sell the 5 Wranglers if anyone is interested?) The kids love the car, as does the wife. As they say... 'Happy wife, happy life'.
Again, thanks for the great info and general well behaved banter, must be something to do with well educated and mannered English car owners. :)
