Air intakes 2000 Td5

Okay so I have some questions regarding air intakes....

There are the 2 vents on the bonnet wings: The left hand one has a vent on it and the right hand one is just a solid blanking plate. I believe the left hand one is for the cabin air system? Can someone confirm? Is the left hand one with the blanking plate on redundant?

On the sides of the vehicle there are 2 other vents: Am I right in saying that the right hand one is the air intake for the engine, and where I would attach a snorkel (which I am looking at buying) Does the left hand one have any purpose or again is it redundant?

You have it in one. Top of left wing is heater/ambient air intake (in UK there are aftermarket scoops), and the engine intake is on side of right wing. The safari snorkel bolts on top of this (but needs additional holes drilled for the bolts.

I gather that the blanked top right wing allows for either left or right hand drive issues, as the heater and pedal blocks would all swap over.

I have seen the after market scoops.... do they actually make a difference? To be honest I dont think the heater works in my truck anyway as when I turn it on I certainly cant feel anything coming out. Not that I really need it, the AC works pretty well to demist and equally keep me cool in 40 degrees, just a query tho....

I havent fitted mine yet, but from having a look I cant see any reason why you couldnt do it yourself. Its pretty straightforward and if you have a look round some other posts theres a fair bit of advice on checking if its watertight/airtight etc

They quoted to me "The snorkel is available and is SGD370.00. The fitting instruction comes with the kit and will fit your 2006 110 TD5 Defender."

Plus re delivery "Freight should be about SGD135.00 and take about 2-3 days"
