Seemed a waste to have to type this twice, so I copy/pasted it here:

Hi bee utey, I am looking at fitting an oxy sensor to my 96 D1 which is running dual fuel. Just wondering if you could recomend which one would best suit and what kind of work is involved in the install . I am pretty confident around cars especially the electrical side and I have access welding equipment as I work in a metal fabrication workshop. Any info would be greatly appreciated..Thanks heaps.

The sensor I use is from a Ford Falcon EA -EL six cylinder. The best way to wire it is to acquire a sensor connector from a wreckers. It is just below the brake booster, easy to get to. Buy a new sensor as they are a wear item. You will need a M18x1.5 sensor mount, I usually make them from a 5/8ww nut as I bought a tap. It is the same thread as the very early Falcon spark plug. An exhaust shop should be able to sell you a mount if you can't make or steal one. Weld it to the Y junction where you can get a power drill horizontally to the pipe, usually under the transfer case.

Your connector plug should be soldered and heat shrinked to a 3 wire cable to reach your gas computer. The two fatter wires on the plug are for the 12V heater, ignition sourced, can be wired either way around as they aren't polarity sensitive. The third, thinner wire goes to your O2 input. The sensor earths via the exhaust, to the block.

For fitting the sensor having an OEM plug makes it a breeze, and is cheaper than a universal sensor.

You can use a 4 wire AU sensor if you like, can't remember which wire is the sensor earth though. Easy enough to work out, it goes to the grey wire on the sensor. Sensor black wire is usually the output.
