Hi All,
Anyone got one of these?
Defender 130 Aux Tank 62Lt - Dolium Pty Ltd (http://www.dolium.com.au/Retail_Catalogue_page/FTL45_item.html)
Seems like a good option for me as my side steps would interfere with mulgo tanks, and the ute tray would interfere with replacing the regular tank with a longranger.
Are there other options for tanks under rear seat. The space under the rear sears will be hard to get to with child seats in the back - so this seems like a good place for fuel.
I would happily go for jerry cans, but my camper set up means the only place they could be stored is at the very back of a 2.1m camper box and I don't want the weight hanging over the back.
Any thoughts?

A few of us with 130's are looking to do similar for water. Check this thread here http://www.aulro.com/afvb/90-110-130-defender-county/122792-dual-cab-defender-130-water-tank-dimensions.html
Whilst the solution we're looking at is only poly, not metal, it should come in under half the price of the Dolium version. I'm pretty sure they could make one suitable for diesel. Let me know if you're interested. The more buyers, the cheaper it gets!

I'd be interested in a quote for a fuel friendly version if you guys are doing a group buy

I was looking at them but do you fill it by opening the back door or from outside?,I don't want the cab filling with diesel fumes every time I fill it. Pat

If I go down this road I'd probably do something like this (http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showpost.php?p=12092149&postcount=62)

Are you still intersted in an Atlas tank like we're getting?

Thats a LOT of coin to spend on water cartage. We stored 60 ltrs in bladders in the seat box when crossing the AB last year. Never had a leak issue and also had room for the odd spare part as well. But if expencive shiny kit gets your freak on go for it !.

Bond - looks to me like the Dolium and Frontrunner products are the same thing.
Ranga - I am interested if you could do a fuel specific version - I don't need water storage - I already have 320ltr on board with my ex CFA tray! Would it be same arrangement as per Bonds link (ie. remove box, fit tank, replace box, filler from side of vehicle, drain to rear). There would need to be a drain point to the rear to gravity feed into the existing fuel tank to meet my needs - otherwise I think I'll either visit the fabricator, or buy a dollium despite the harsh price ticket.

What brand, cost and dimensions were your bladder? The only ones I've seen won't fit, and are bloody expensive.

You can get a 50 litre Plastimo bladder for $90 at Whitworths ($120 for 100l). You can buy fuel bladders for not much more coin; I've seen off-road touring bikes carrying them in their panniers. Not sure I would want to carry fuel in the passenger compartment though.
These dudes have some good stuff. www.liquidcontainment.com.au, Motorbike fuel tanks, Petrol Bladder, Diesel Bladder, Av Gas bladder Tanks (http://www.liquidcontainment.com.au/fuel_bladders.html)
Cheers,
Adam

I just used 15 ltr water boxed/badders from that uero supermarket. Double skined bladders placed in a purpose made cardbord box/tray to fit under seat space. To stop rubbing I lined the box with some 3 mil nylon backed foam mat and inserted some between the bladders where they touched. Id already raised the seat bace level, but used the original box lid combined with a rachet type cargo strap to lock it all down, in case of roll over.

I checked out water bladders when I originally wanted more water, but ones like those at Whitworths were all the wrong dimensions. How would I get a 100L Plastimo tank that is 700mm x 1050mm x 250mm under the rear seats? The closest thing I can find that might fit would be this http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360349213138&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT. Not a bad idea, provided you can find one that fits and you can eliminate the risks of puncture.
The LiquidContainment jobs aren't cheap either - http://www.liquidcontainment.com.au/ecommerce.php?ecompage=viewdetails&stockcode=LCrec%2060

I've just been out inspecting, and I'm not sure how you can use the under seat tank with gravity feed to the existing fuel tank unless you tap into the existing fuel tank near the bottom.
The bottom on the under seat tank is lower than the top of the main fuel tank where all the connections are.
There do not appear to be any points lower down where you can tap into the tank without drilling a hole in it. Is that what you are meant to do?

Not sure - I'm only looking for a water tank, so doesn't apply to me.

Our second tank is under the drivers side sill and is pumped into a T piece in the breather of the filler of the main tank byway of little clicker pump.

Hi All,
I have recently had installed a Dolium brand aux tank under the rear seat box of my brand new Puma 130 and it is very hard if not impossible to fill easily, and without fuel running out as I fill it--has anyone else had this issue and if so how did you solve it?
