The cooling fans only operate when the engine gets a specified temp or the air con is on, and will turn off when temp has lowered and in between air con cycles. Is it getting hot?

How hot are you talking. The fans are computer controlled and don't start up until 106'c and turn back off at 100'c, so it will feel hot but is in operating temps

Im not sure how hot it is but I can feel the heat on my face when I stand next to the car and look to at engine and it can be touchable but not keeping hand on it, and last time I started the engine for 30min then I took it for a short lap, the temp gauge was just below mid-point then I opened the bonnet while the engine is still on to see if the fan came on but nothing happened the fan didnt come on.
how can I know that the temp got to 106'c ?
thanks again

Unplug the coolant temp sensor. Its located in the pipe on the head the top radiator hose is on. With this disconnected the engine fans should operate.
