I have another experience with LED lights.
Recently had a new trailer made up and it has LED lights. Everything works OK except that when I reverse it, the rear sensors on the Disco don't realize that the trailer is on and start beeping?

Hi Craig & Rog
I recently purchased a Jayco van with LED running lights. At the last moment I realised I needed one of the LED modules for my Disco 4. I rang up my LR dealer at Maroochydore and they had one sent overnight from Melbourne to Jayco in Brisbane . It was installed on the A Frame and has worked perfectly. The reverse sensors won’t come on once the trailer is attached, the little green trailer light on the instrument panel blinks with the indicators and most importantly, the trailer sway assist will be active (although I haven’t had a need for it yet - the D4 tows beautifully).
I believe the unit that LR sent me is the same as the Linear Electronic module. So you may get it cheaper if you go direct to them.

Chris

If the indicators on the trailer don't work there is problem with the wiring, I had a adaptor that was bung so it could even be that. The dash lights won't work without some sort of shunt, there are electrical diagrahms floating around to make your own or you can buy them for a couple of hundred $$.. Apart from that the trailer lights should work fine as stock standard.(even LEDS)
The reverse sensors on mine do go off (noise) but I just push the button to turn them off, I believe that if I get a shunt box the revese sensors would be disabled when a trailer is plugged in... But I have in the past forgotten that I have had a trailer on and jack knifed it bending panels,(on my Disco 2) so I don't mind the reminder...

Hi Craig and Rog,
I had this non recognition problem with a new boat trailer with LEDs and my D3. I purchased the LED adaptor model from www.linearelectronicsdesign.com (http://www.linearelectronicsdesign.com) The unit works perfectly with the little green indicators flashing and no sensor beeping. Purchase direct and save around $50.:)
Cheers

Hi there,
Same problem same solution, I bought one of the Linear electronics magic boxes works a treat. One thing I originally attached the box with the cable ties, more fool me, they gave way on the GCR I've now screwed the unit to the a frame of the trailer. Despite a good pounding on the road the unit still works as it should, so I'll put this down as a robust little unit as well.
