1990 heater resistor

I need help with finding a heater resistor. I have rung my usual parts supplier. they say they are not available any more. though I have found they are available in UK & USA. You just need to check your soul in to pay for them.
The question is; are there any alternatives that could be used? or does some one out there in and Rover land have one they would like to sell!

Check the breaking notices in markets and on ebay.
Otherwise it can be replaced by a couple of power resistors available over the counter from Jaycar.
Not close to my RRC otherwise I'd be able to give you the values - but if you plonk a multimeter on the old one you'll get it.
