Dont let your old phone know you're buying a new one.

whilst demoing a feature I wanted specifically my new phone to have my old one chucked a hearty, fortunately a few minutes AFTER I purchased a new phone with the feature I want.

so 2 things.

If you have my number and think I should have yours can you drop me an SMS with your name and number so I can add you into the contacts on the new phone (yes I have just learnt that no windoze powered phones dont save contacts to the sim card)

does anyone know how to unlock a mio digiwalker a702 mobile phone that wont load the touchscreen driver because its hanging with "the file ":MSPOUTLOOK" cannot be opened Either it is not signed wit ha trusted certificate or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists try reinstalling or restoring the file

Oh dear... What a nuisance!

There's a couple of things you can try....

Number one....

That error indicates that one of the keys in the file directory is corrupt, or has been renamed. It doesn't sound like you've renamed anything though.
You could try doing a back up if you've got a backup file?

If you don't have a back up, locate a file called PIM under My Device in File Explorer.
Rename the file and hard reset your device.
You will probably lose the software you installed, but you will recover your contacts, calendar and tasks.

Number two.... (similar to the above, but potential to save everything.)

Can you connect your device to your PC and explore the files?
If so, locate and copy the PIM.VOL (located in the ROOT directory) to your PC or your device memory card.
Hard reset the device, rename the NEW PIM.VOL as PIMOLD.VOL then copy the PIM.VOL you saved back to the device. Soft reset and your information will should be back.

Luck!

Problem is phones are telepathic. My old ones always spit the dummy if I even think of getting a new one.

Trans gender telepathy, too. If I get a new phone, my wifes one suddenly needs replacing

Windows mobile 6.1/6.5 certainly does save either to the sim card or phone.

My 5 years old $ 70 Samsung saves the numbers on the card and in the phone memory and also have the software to save all the data in the PC :)
I think that with the $20 plan with Telstra you can get the same phone.

unfortunatly I have found out that the process thats hanging is hanging right between the part where the phone locks the screen to prevent you from accidentally mis entering the pin code and the part where it loads the drivers to make the touch screen work so you can unlock the screen.

Its stopping everything from happening so I cant even get it to come up as a drive or device unless I put the phone into update mode but I dont have the update software for the phone so thats not much good to me.

and my bad on the punctuation that was ment to read no, windoze phones dont (yada yada yada).

Ive got a handfull saved to the simcard but the rest for some reason saved in the default outlook thing.

I just love the fact that it is an option to place a call on my last few mobile phones. .........and what would you think the primary purpose of a phone would be !!?? Why do they even call them phones now.
