Hi Forumites,
I received my P017 Safety Recall for my D3 braking system yesterday. A pretty impressive exercise actually. I bought the vehicle off the second owner in the ACT, brought the vehicle over to Perth and registered the D3 in Perth, over the pits etc etc. The vehicle went over the pits on the ACT plates, I then fitted all my goodies and took the vehicle to Southerns in Perth for a wheel alignment, still on ACT plates.
Received the letter yesterday registered mail with the correct VIN number and my personalised WA plates on the header. I'm assuming here that LR have gone to a fair bit of trouble here to locate my vehicle. When I phoned up LR in NSW today to see how they managed this they searched through the DOT in Perth against the VIN number.
I've now updated my vehicle with them and Southerns should there be any more recalls.
I knew the recall had to be coming because my VIN number was on the GTR site, I just wasn't sure when. Just wanted to share this so others know that if you are due for a recall I suspect they will find you somehow, bloody good effort!!! :arms::arms::arms:

Hi Marty,
I received my Recall Notice today as well. I guess its comforting to know that Land Rover at least accept responsibility for safety of its 'ageing fleet'. I had read of this possible fault on the forum but wasn't sure if my vehicle was included. I'm happy someone cares.:)
cheers
John

...bloody good effort!!! :arms::arms::arms:

You'll find it's 100% about deaths and suits , and nothing about you ....
This lot don't , and haven't for many years , given a toss . Front up
with an out-of-warranty non-deadly fault that doesn't have a UK based
class action ready to roll and they'll tell you to stick it .

If you as an individual are in the Landrover system you will get the advice - if you are not then you will not get the recall advice until you either get work done at a dealer or someone goes into the system and enters you into it.

When I bought my RRS in December a member on AULRO looked up my VIN in the Land Rover system and advised me of this and another outstanding recall. When I got my car I went straight to the local dealer who then entered my details into the system against my Vin - if I had not then booked in for the work to be done I would have also received the letter.

Nomad - it would have been your trip to Southerns that started the process nothing special.

If you want to check up on the status of things like this, you can check it yourself on Topix - just punch in your Vin TOPIx - TOPIx (http://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/i18n/index#)
