whats needed to do to licence lpg

as the title says what do i need to do to licence the lpg in my 92 rrc. its still all in date with 5 years to spare and i only put it in about a month ago and it runs great ( without jinxing myself). its a omvl r/e90 with sprint bits, i just duplicated it from the donor car but it had no motor so i dred i say guessed where the heater/coolent hoses get T-ed in and where it gets wired up under the dash, which rr brown wire goes to the sprint coloured wires and lastly the level markers on the dash gauge show empty when full and vice versa.

Whatever you do don't tell a lpg place that you installed it yourself. This legally is a huge no-no. Just say you bought it this way. You would have been better off dumping the job at a gas fitter's and claiming the $1500 fitting rebate. You might get one to certify your job but they might tell you to go away too, politely maybe.

As far as the wiring is concerned you need to give some more info, is it the injectors you are trying to cut? The fuel gauge may need a different sender unit.

thanks bee utey a bloke at work said it only mattered if i sold her but i was mainly looking for insurenc puposes. my lr mechanic has looked at it gave it a tune up at sait it still looks like a good retrorefit. he didnt know bout the relicening issue as in the uk you are allow to self install but thank heaps

I bought mine with an LPG setup already done, however it was not licenced. So I took it to a LPG place and got them to certify it and let me know what work was required for it to be legal. Obviously you can't just take the car and do the work yourself and bring it back as that's illegal (even for me, I'm a mechanic). I paid the bloke a very reasonable amount for the remaining work (eg some wiring modification, an extra cutout solenoid and some strapping for the tank) and he agreed to put a certification plate on it.

You need it to be legal to pass RWC.. hope this helps!

Bee Utey assumed you are in Australia, are you?
It confused me that you would say you can DIY in UK if you are in Oz. You can own a machine gun in USA too..:D it's about as relevant.

BTW, if your car is in a prang, it's a fair bet if an insurance assessor see's it ( if you are in Australia & because this is an Australian site I assume you are) then he will check the VIN, report it, & void the claim. ( don't hit anything expensive)
If a fire occurs, even if it's petrol from the other car, you will end up in court. If it's a fatality, pack the vaseline !!
Then again, you might have many years trouble free motoring..

thanks felex but we dont have to get the RWC every year or so over here in WA but i will try to take it to a lpg shop and go from there
