Im not sure if anyone else has posted this before but this stuff would be a top item to have in a emergency repair kit.

Looks like the glass microballoons we modellers have been using for 25 years or so. I used to sell the stuff (both glass and phenolic microballoons) back in the early 80s.
I've still got some of both types out in the garage. The phenolic was also good mixed with polyester or epoxy resin.

its good stuff but its basically stock superglue with granulated plastic.
loctite 401 a decent grater and some plastic stock will let you do the same thing in a pinch. (its not as convenient tho)
as with everything its very versatile but the prepwork is key to making it work properly.

Saw it infomercialled in a Parts store a few weeks ago. Curious to see how it works on leaky airbags.
Anyone know who distributes Thistlebond here?
Sent from my backyard TeePee using smoke signals.

Wont the hard glue bit hurt if it hits you in the face as the airbags activate??
:twisted::p
(ok, yes! I did know what you meant...)

Repco sell this as Q-bond. Q-bond comes with a plastic based powder and an aluminum oxide powder. I unsuccessfully tried to repair a fuel tank on a Lada Niva with it. It did however help us fix a diaphragm pump at work after it cracked.

Looks good. Approx $30.
Rescue Tape / Tommy Tape / Silicone tape is another great bush mechanic tool. Bonds to itself, does not rely on adhesive, even bonds wet.

Go to any hobby shop and buy some microballoons, e.g., K&B (see K&B Manufacturing (http://www.mecoa.com/acc/paint/index.htm)). Buy some good superglue, e.g., Hot Stuff, and you're done.
