Hi All, through random clicking and searching I stumbled across the following ODB codes. In the past my handheld OBD code reader had codes that I could not easily find description for, and this seemed to be a comprehensive list. Apologies if everyone knew about this, but I will blast the list here (and the url) for future reference. In addition to the fault codes below, I was able to register as a user on this (http://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/vehicle/lookupForm)LR TOPIx webstie and enter my VIN number and then it displayed a number of interesting things about my particular car including Outstanding field service actions.

I hope it wasnt supposed to be a dealer-only site, but it allowed me to register no problems.

Registration was free, but some of the articles available when you dig deeper, require a payment for subscription. Many of the articles looked like RAVE contents though.

Have heard these readers can be picked up cheap on ebay and at places like supercheap... but supposedly you need to get the right one... could you (or anyone) recommend a type and possible place of purchase?

My generic OBDII handheld was ~$70 from ebay and works fine. It doesnt know the exact terms for LR codes but the generic setting tells you the codes and allows you to reset faults etc. It wont speak to the EAS or BeCM, but for engine and gbox fault codes its fine.

Having said that, I would have been much better off saving that money and buying a faultmate. It only takes one troublesome visit to the dealer or mechanics and you will have made your money if the Faultmate could have helped you (like it could have with my door lock immobiliser fault).

no it isn't... you are obviously looking at the wrong prices... remember who your mates are and don't take online prices as non-negotiable ;)

Uuuuuuuum sorry mate, but at $80 delivered (for ebay OBD reader) I can keep some coin aside for my HRA sliders and have a little visibilty into codes... of course knowing my luck, they will not be the ones I will need or want to see!!!
