Hello,

any one know what this is?
all i know it leaks diesel slightly ?

it sits on the LHS of the engine block right next to the fuel pump?

wouldnt mind fixing the slight leak
I have a Tdi 1997

A pic would be helpful, is it black and made of plastic, if so it is the Vacuum pump, if not it maybe the cyclone oil seperator attached to the rocker cover, a good description, at least would go a long way, Regards Frank.

yeah I would also say it was the vacuum pump there is a thread on here about repairing these (not replacing them)

Thanks Guys, sorry about no pic, cant seem to work out how to do it, will keep practicing,

I think it is the vaccum pump now as its black sits on the block next to fuel pump and has a big vaccum hose coming of it

Just so I am clear as I havent been so far looking back at my thread, the black think with the vaccum hose is on the Right hand side of the engine

Yep vacuum pump.. Pull it off (need motor at TDC to make it easier to put back in) Then drill out the rivets and get some good gasket paper and cut to size. Then, get some bolts and bolt it all back together
