Hi Guys
I am new to the forum and looking to do some mods to my stock disco. Looking to move up to 33's and a comfortable lift to accomodate this.
Does anyone have any advice, so far i am thinking a 3 inch lift and 33x12.5's, do the guards require trimming? are flares required? offsets?
Thanks for your help.

G'day jaz,
very common topic, since you posted it in the D1 section you should have seen these threads....

And probably lots more. The search button up there is pretty useful, just did a search "33 d1"
Also in members rides there will be lots of build ups which detail mods done.
Cheers and have fun building it up.

Thanks for the tip, found the search function just after i posted.
Big tyres on a disco seem's to be a full on process to do it right.

3 inch lift will still require a nice chunk out of the guards, it's easy to do the front but the rear means you will have to fix up a decent hole in your back doors. You can either get some nice made guards or buy some truck flares to fit, both look good if done right :D

Suspension, they will rub inner guards a tad
I like body lifts

Hi the best way in my opinion is to go with a 2 inch suspension lift and a 2 inch body lift with -25 off set rims and wheel flares.
With a 2 inch suspension lift you can get away with doing a lot less and not get the vibes from tail shafts and the other advantage with the body lift is you are keeping the centre of gravity lower as you have not lifted the motor, gear box / trans case etc up that extra inch, just the body weight.
My opinion only others will differ.
Cheers Peter
